I shot engagements of Cathy and Steve late one night out in downtown SLC. Cathy is the twin sister of Jenni who just married Jared back on June 16th (if any of you want to go back into the archives). Anyways, I was so excited to shoot these engagements because night shoots always turn out so cool and they are so challenging, but you get such dramatic and moody shots. Here are a couple of my favorites from the session :)
On Saturday, I shot a wedding for Robin and Doug. Doug was the best man of Dustin and Wendy's wedding that I shot last year. During Dustin and Wendy's wedding, we did a shot of Doug and Dustin with their backs to the camera and them grabbing each other on the bum. Well when Robin and Doug met with me to talk about me doing their wedding, I jokingly told Doug the only reason they wanted to hire me is because Doug wanted an excuse to grab Dustin's bum again. Dustin and Doug have been friends for 14 years and during the toast, I heard a lot of funny funny stories about their adventures together. It was so cute because as I was shooting the getting ready shots, Robin asked about how handsome Doug looked, and Doug asked about how Robin looked. Congratulations Robin and Doug and have a fun honeymoon.
So on Friday I assisted my friend Jacque Lynn at Cooper and Chelsa's wedding held at Fort Williams. I always enjoy being able to assist other photographers and always have so much fun. Being the second shooter, I was a little more free to shoot some candids and follow the little kids around which was fun. Every time I would try and sneak a shot of them, they happened to look and run away, so it was a bit of a challenge. I always enjoy when there are children at weddings, they bring about so many photo ops and are such little hams. Here are a couple of shots that caught my fancy.
On Saturday I shot Cecilia and Ryan's wedding at the Salt Lake Temple and Ivy Lane Reception Center. Some of you may remember Sunset whose wedding I shot back in September. Cecilia was a bridesmaid at Sunset's wedding and we all worked together. Cecilia is such a bubbly person and I had a blast shooting the wedding. Here are a few of my favorites.
This was the most difficult shot to get all day. The streets were all empty so we had to round people up slowly and they were nice enough to all walk by at the same time.
I love this shot, boquet mid-air and tongue out. :P
