Park City

On Sunday night, my wife and I finally got a night to ourselves, so we headed up to Park City. It is our favorite place to go. We had our first date 8 years ago at the Park City Silver Mines on October 10, 1998. So we always love escaping to Park City. It is like having our first date all over again and resparks the romance between us. We went to the Tanger Outlet stores and spent way too much money on ourselves, but what else could we do, we saved like 50% off retail prices, hehehe. After shopping for hours upon end, we headed down Historic Main Street to eat some dinner. We booked a hotel for our 8 year anniversary in October for a really great deal, and it's always nice to have a night to ourselves. After dinner we went to the chocolate store for some carmel apples, but saw they had ice cream, so we got that instead. I love the fact that even after 7 years of being together, we always have something to talk about. I enjoy hanging out with Tiffany and look forward to the rest of our lives together.

Last nights lightning storm was awesome, there were huge bolts all over the sky. I wanted so badly to go out and shoot some nice lightning photos but my kids were sleeping and my wife was still at work. So when she got home at 2:30 AM MST, I grabbed my camera and headed out to an open field. Unfortunately I missed most of the peak bolts and only caught one, it had already moved over the mountains by the time I got out there. Bummer, oh well, here are a couple of photos from last night.

Tonight, I held my second monthly photographer get together. It is always fun to get together with my photographer friends. Not only are they great photographers that take great images, they have the funnest personalities and we all get along so well. Today when we were taking photos, Anna suggested that we use an empty frame as a Darla prop, what a great idea. Next month, we are going to be doing a shoot at layton park and then all go out bowling together at Davis Lanes. Here are a couple of fun shots from the day.

Chuck E Cheese Please !?!?!?

On Saturday, I finally took a break from all of my computer work and spent a day out with the family. We had planned on going to the Eden balloon festival, but when we got there, the balloons weren't launching and there were hardly any activities for the kids. My girls have been asking to go to Chuck E Cheeses for a while now and my wife and I have never been, so we decided to take the girls there. We bought the family fun deal where you get 100 tokens so the girls would have lots to do. Turns out 100 tokens last a lot longer than you would think. I was all gamed out after the first 25 tokens. We had a lot of fun though. We then wanted to go to the Aquarium but that was closed, so we stopped at Maggie Moo's for ice cream. That was some good ice cream. Today looking at my girls, I can't believe how big they've grown and how fast the time has gone by since I first held them in my arms at birth. They are so adorable. Here are a couple of pics from the day.

Hot Bride Nikki and Cold Ice Cream

Last night, I shot Nikki's bridals at Memory Grove in SLC. Nikki brought her sister-in-law Kara and we had such a blast. Nikki looked like a princess and her dress was stunning. It was supposed to bustle up somehow so the dress wouldn't drag, but we couldn't figure it out for the life of us. Nikki has got the most beautiful blue eyes and such a fun personality. After the shoot, I treated everybody to Baskin Robbins Ice Cream. It was really nice to get a chance to know Nikki and Kara more. Kara is in love with Mountain Dew Limewire as I am. The ice cream was delicious and I am glad we had the chance to hang out together. Here are a couple of favorites from the shoot.

Ashley and Sean's Wedding

On Wednesday, I shot Ashley and Sean's wedding. They got married at the Bountiful Temple and had their reception at The Wight House in Bountiful. Holy cow, I have never seen a couple so in love and so happy. When they came out of the temple doors, they couldn't stop kissing each other, it was so cute. Then half way through group shots, Sean pulled Ashley away for a moment alone together with some more kissing and whispering sweet nothings in each others ears. They are so happy and in love it makes me wanna cry (in a happy, manly sort of way). Check back for pictures and the slideshow.

Jared and Rusti got hitched!!!!

Yesterday my wife and I had the best time shooting Rusti and Jared's Wedding. The ceremony was at Snow Basin Ski Resort and it was absolutely gorgeous. Riding the ski lift up to the lodge was a lot better than the ski lifts in park city because you are actually enclosed. The ceremony was a lot of fun. The groomsmen gave Jared a hard time when he said "I do" because he said it so soft. After the ceremony we did a couple group shots like normal and then we rode the ski lift down with Rusti and Jared, that was a lot of fun getting to know more about them and getting some photos in the ski lift. Then we waited for their limo to come and pick them up, Rusti's dad had rented them a limo sized to hold 16 people, how funny. My wife and I were going to leave and just catch up with them at the reception, but we decided to wait to get shots of them in the limo, and boy am I glad that we decided to wait. Some of the best pictures of the whole day came after we followed the limo and passed a field full of tall golden wheat set against a big blue cloudy sky. I knew they had to get out for some shots so we stopped and got some awesome photos. After that, we left for the reception. It was held at Jared and Rusti's house in Plain City. They served the best pineapple, banana, slushy stuff I have ever had, I must've had at least 12 cups of it (don't worry, there was still plenty left for the other guests.) One of the best things I loved about Jared and Rusti's wedding was their family. Everyone was so friendly and funny they made us feel right at home. During the the toast, Rusti's grandfather gave her the following advice, "Don't fart on your honeymoon." Everyone busted up laughing, it was soooo funny. Here are a few of my favorite images from the day. See more images by clicking this slideshow link.
